Grainy texture to your Sheango?
If it bothers you, we have a way to help you fix it!

The two main butters in Sheango are Shea and Mango Butter. They are natural plant fats that nourish the skin and contain high amounts of Vitamin A, E, and F which all contribute to keeping skin healthy and clear of fine lines and wrinkles and blemishes as well as protecting against sun damage. As much as we love mango and shea butter, they can sometimes become grainy or uneven within natural skincare products.

Ever notice your Sheango become separated or grainy? The product has not spoiled or gone bad. Shea + Mango butter become grainy after the product has undergone a temperature increase and then cools down too slowly. All of the fats that are molecularly similar are attracted to one another and form little fat grains or crystals within the product. The crystals will melt when they contact your skin but some people don’t like to deal with the grains.

So here’s an easy solution:

A. Add enough water to a pot so the water line would fall just below the lid of the jar (about 1-2 inches depending on the size of the jar)

B. Boil the water and then turn off the heat.

C. Taking care not to burn yourself, place the product in the hot water (making sure the lid is on tight) and leave in for 15 minutes until the water cools.

D. Pull the product from the water, dry it and put it in the freezer for 30 minutes.

E. Remove from freezer and there you go!
